This necklace features a sterling silver oval prayer box with a genuine oval gemstone on a simple sterling silver rolo chain. The pendant opens similar to a locket, but is deeper inside, to hold your most treasured possessions. Available in purple amethyst, deep red garnet, blue topaz or green peridot.

Prayer boxes are used by the followers of many faiths, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. All faiths use prayer boxes to focus the mind on one’s prayers or secret wishes, typically by writing down a prayer or wish on a small piece of paper and placing it into the box. Doing so is believed by the faithful to make these prayers and wishes come true.

Crash+Duchess was born after coming home from an impromptu visit to my first bead shop back in 2008. I found myself with a pile of beautiful stones, but no knowledge of what to do with them - buying beads for their inherent beauty seemed like a perfectly reasonable thing to me.
